The organizational chart of IIES is conceived as a flexible structure where different actors converge to develop activities collaboratively, all of whom are orchestrated by the director, the scientific committee, and institutional strategic instances. This scheme focuses on representing the operation of the Institute from a concept of synergy for the fulfillment of a common purpose.

The functional and organizational scheme of the Institute operates through teams grouped according to specific functions and capabilities. The scientific team is made up of researchers and directors of the research areas and is responsible for carrying out the scientific and R&D activities of the Institute. The technical support team is composed of a microscopy technician, a sample preparation technician, a lithothecary official, a webmaster, and a stratigraphic draftsman, who provide direct support for the development of the scientific team’s activities and the provision of services. The administrative team is composed of an administrative coordinator, a marketing and projection coordinator, an administrative assistant, a legal advisor, and a logistics official, who together are responsible for the administrative management for the proper functioning of the Institute. Additionally, there are the R&D collaborators, made up of young researchers, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and expert researchers, who can be permanently and/or project-based to develop R&D activities.

The interrelationships of the teams are based on constant and articulated communication for the fulfillment of the objectives of each of the Institute’s areas. The following is the organizational chart that represents the operation of the Institute described above:
